Dear friends,

It’s hard to believe that it’s September, since summer weather continues in the south.

We’re busy weeding and trimming our clients’ gardens to ensure they look manicured, lush and prolific, as part of our Horticulture Maintenance Service.

It’s very important to have a trusted expert minding your southern residence while you’re out of the state or country.

In addition to our weekly Home Watch service, where we inspect your southern residence, what else can be done to ensure that your home is safe and secure? A monitored alarm system can help provide the comfort that your property is safe and protected. We are the first call from the alarm company, should the system be triggered. Our Emergency Response service ensures a quick response to any call.

We’re pleased to announce several enhancements to our website. We’ve added new pages for:

Horticulture Service and Pool Service. Follow the link to check them out: Suncoast Home Concierge

Here’s some recent Suncoast area news:

SOLAR TSUNAMI IN FLORIDA : Surprisingly, the Sunshine State has long been a solar energy laggard. That is about to change. Solar has failed to blossom in Florida because it has made little financial sense, thanks to electric rates that are much lower than up north. In addition, the state gives little support to solar. Florida prohibits the practice of solar companies selling directly to consumers. Currently, only utility companies can sell electricity to consumers. It is legal for Floridians to pay for solar installations on the roof of a home or business, however the considerable up-front costs ($15,000 + for a homeowner) discourage widespread use of the technology. That’s about to change … Read more here:  Solar tsunami

A SUMMER SURGE FOR HOME SALES : Home sales and prices in Southwest Florida bounced back in July after an early summer lull. Closing results indicate a 22.5% gain from the same month last year. Prices also rebounded, with median single-family homes and condos both jumping nearly 19% in Sarasota-Manatee.  Follow the jump for more: Summer Surge for Home Sales

THE GAMES ARE COMING : The 2017 World Rowing Championships will be hosted by the city of Sarasota at Nathan Benderson Park! The economic impact will reverberate as loud as the fans will cheer. Tens of thousands of new visitors will flock to our community and the media coverage will reach millions! It’s the sport’s largest competition apart from the Olympic Games. Work is underway to ensure that the infrastructure can support an event of this magnitude.  Here’s more: Sarasota Get The Games!

THE COUNTDOWN IS ON! On November 9, the fabulous Marie Selby Botanical Gardens will unveil a wonderful new addition: the Ann Goldstein Children’s Rainforest Garden.
